That’s why Mission Efficiency called for an ambitious global energy efficiency target at COP28. The first global stocktake of the Paris Agreement calls on Parties to contribute to the goal of doubling the global average annual rate of energy efficiency improvements by 2030. Now is the time for actionable steps to ensure progress toward the doubling the energy efficiency rate to keep climate goals within reach.

NDCs contain information on targets, and policies and measures for reducing national emissions and on adapting to climate change impacts. The Paris Agreement (Article 4, paragraph 2) requires each Party to prepare, communicate and maintain successive NDCs that it intends to achieve.
